This year, we’ve had some great achievements, including expanding our departments and our services. We have had lots of great reviews from our clients and we have continued to thrive, not only in our day to day work but also in our charitable work.
Since our office is based in the Crosby area, and we have a rich history here, we are all very connected to the community. In fact, the team at Black Norman Solicitors are all very passionate about community projects and getting involved. Last year we took a look at our community involvement in 2022, so it seemed only right that we take another glance as the year comes to an end. Keep on reading to learn more about some of the projects we’ve been involved in.
Last year was a great year where we got to support the cancer charity Macmillan. In 2023 we continued this tradition by hosting coffee mornings to raise money. It’s a great fundraising idea and a lovely way to treat the office!
We raised just over £100 from our most recent Macmillan coffee morning which gave us a nice certificate but also went to a wonderful charity. Head to their website to learn how you can get your own office involved in a coffee morning.
International Women’s Day on March 8th is a global celebration of women’s rights and women in the workforce. At Black Norman, two thirds of our workforce are female and we’re incredibly proud of all of them. This year we celebrated International Women’s Day in the office by wearing pink and having a cuppa together to celebrate and reflect on their success.
From solicitors to office managers, our firm in Crosby would be nothing without the women who help it succeed. Learn more about the women who work at Black Norman and all of the different roles they thrive in, by browsing their team profiles.
This year, Black Norman also had a hand in shaping the landscape of Crosby by supporting the Coronation Park refurbishment project. The planned development is looking to add more attractions for young people such as slides and merry-go-rounds with a tropical theme for the kids to play in. We hope to share many more updates in 2024.
In August, Black Norman also took part in a local fair dedicated to raising money for the project and our support will be ongoing. We really can’t wait to see the refurbishment of the Crosby Coronation Park next year!
This year we became the official sponsors of Thin Blue Line CIC who are raising funds to help deliver engaging and fun workshops to young people in Liverpool. These workshops might explore criminology or forensics, and they can help inspire more young people in the Crosby area to consider careers in this area.
In September, we helped support their fundraising efforts, and we can’t wait to keep supporting this cause. Learn more about the cause on their LinkedIn.
This year we attended some incredible networking events. Ranging from local events in Crosby, Bootle and Liverpool and further afield, with some of our team heading to MIPIM in Cannes and others to London for the Landlord Investment Show.
We were also very lucky to host three networking events at our own offices. These events are a great chance for the community and like-minded professionals in Crosby to connect, network and share ideas. Keep up to date with our social media for news on more events coming up!
This year Black Norman was really proud to support St Joseph’s Hospice in their annual ‘Light up a Life’ and ‘Sparkle For Christmas’ events. The service for both of these events took place on Sunday 3rd of December at 4pm.
Light up a Life is about remembering loved ones with each light representing a friend or family member for which you can dedicate your own light. St. Joseph’s Hospice does some great work for the community and so we were so happy to support their efforts. Head to their website to learn about some ways you can support the work St.Joseph’s Hospice do in 2024!
Finally, finishing the year on a high, Black Norman sponsored the Crosby Village Lights Switch on.The greatly anticipated annual event is a firm favourite of ours and the local people, as it captures the heart of the community and all that Crosby is about. As many of our staff live locally and have been at the heart of the community for over 30 years, we were delighted to help fund such a great event.
This event was hosted by Crosby Town CIC and was a fun-filled evening of festive fun for all the family. We all had a great time helping make this happen and supporting the community.
The community spirit in Crosby is thriving and we are so happy that we could be part of making this year a better one, for the community. Although it’s been a busy year, we hope these project ideas can help improve the community even further in 2024. From everyone at Black Norman Solicitors, we are wishing the whole of Crosby, and beyond a wonderful Christmas and lovely new year.
