Stuart is a Solicitor specialising in commercial conveyancing and real estate matters. Qualified in 2008, he brings extensive experience advising on complex commercial property transactions, acting for a diverse client base ranging from SMEs and PLCs to property investment companies and institutional lenders.

Approaching 10 years at Black Norman Solicitors in April 2026, Stuart is a key member of the Commercial Property team, combining technical expertise with a commercially focused and pragmatic approach.

Career Journey

Stuart qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 and has since developed significant expertise as a Real Estate lawyer. Over the course of his career, he has advised on a broad spectrum of commercial property matters, including landlord and tenant work, acquisitions and disposals, and secured lending transactions.

He has acted for SMEs, PLCs, property investment and estate management companies, retail, office and industrial tenants, as well as a number of institutional lenders – providing commercially astute advice tailored to each client’s objectives.

Outside the Office

Away from work, Stuart enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is an avid (armchair) rugby union supporter and a keen hiker and scrambler.

• Favourite films: Too many to mention, but The Shawshank Redemption, Good Will Hunting, Anchorman, and the Jason Bourne and Matrix box sets are among his favourites.
• Favourite book: Having spent the day reading documents, Stuart prefers listening to educational and entertainment podcasts on finance and economics.
• Favourite music: Anything involving a seasoned guitar player — with Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Dire Straits high on the list.
• Desert island item: Usually his wife and children — but an all-you-can-eat bar of Dairy Milk would be a close second.
• Fun fact: Stuart has completed the 3 Peak Challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in 22 hours, the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 8 hours, and the GR221 in Mallorca in 4.5 days.
